A Long Hard Road is a personal story, but not just a personal one. It’s about what happens when you build a life around creativity, ambition, instinct, hope, and a willingness to keep going even when the road gets rough.

Along the way, there are stories from music, entertainment, business, and the many unexpected turns that come from trying to make something out of your life without following the neat, sensible path. There’s humor in it, because there has to be. There’s heart in it too. And there’s a fair amount of truth about how strange life can be when you keep saying yes to the next chapter before you fully understand what it’s going to cost.

This is not a book about having everything figured out. It’s a book about staying in the game, learning as you go, and discovering that sometimes the road itself turns out to be the story.

I’ve been around long enough to know that life rarely goes in a straight line. Plans change. Doors open, then slam shut. Good ideas turn into bad ones. Bad ideas sometimes turn out better than expected. And every once in a while, the long way around teaches you more than the road you meant to take in the first place.

A Long Hard Road is my story of chasing music, work, purpose, and whatever seemed worth believing in at the time. Sometimes things worked out. Sometimes they didn’t. Sometimes they went so far sideways all you could do was laugh and keep moving.

This isn’t a polished success story, because that wouldn’t be the truth. It’s a real one. A life shaped by detours, reinventions, disappointments, persistence, a little luck, and the refusal to quit just because the map stopped making sense.

If you’ve ever held on to a dream longer than common sense suggested, you may find something familiar here.

Why I Wrote It: I wrote this book because the clean version of a life usually leaves out the best parts.

It leaves out the mistakes, the wrong turns, the risks, the near misses, the second chances, and the moments when you thought the whole thing might be over only to find out it wasn’t. It leaves out the part where you keep going not because you’re fearless, but because something in you still believes there’s more road ahead.

That seemed worth writing down.

I’ve spent a lifetime around music, storytelling, entertainment, business, and the unpredictable business of trying to make a meaningful life out of creative instincts. Looking back, I realized the story was never just about success or failure. It was about motion. About endurance. About trying, adapting, laughing where you can, and not letting disappointment have the final word.
Who This Book Is For: This book is for people who like real stories told straight.

It’s for people who’ve had big dreams, taken hard knocks, started over, kept going, or looked around one day and thought, “Well, this didn’t turn out exactly the way I expected.”
